Why do guys flirt then ignore you and what does it mean?

okay so I like this guy named Ryan and he flirts with me and is all nice to me. When other people are mean to me he is like stop. He sits next to me in a class when we can sit whereever even though he is better friends with the other girls in it. He flirts with me there and yells at his friends if they are mean. i let him copy some of my hw so i dont know if he is nice because of that. but the rest of the school day we both ignore eachother and we always do excpet for some parts of the day. but he started ignoring me when i saw him at the mall and does he not like me? should i flirt back or ignore him cause guys like the chase? HELP!! p.s. i really like him

Reply:act like it's no biggie..if you act like you're not affected when he ignores you..he'll somehow feel rejected--and people respond to rejection..you can still let him copy you hw since you copy his too..things will turn around you'll see
